Description

The Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) class is a two-day learning experience for Certified ScrumMasters who already have 1 year experience and need to take the next step in learning, scaling, and dealing with resistance, in order to become true experts. The A-CSM program is designed to build on your foundational knowledge with enhanced skills for the implementation of Scrum and Agile techniques within your company and teams. 

16 academic hour course follow-up to our popular Certified ScrumMaster training blends coaching and training approaches to deliver a deeper dive into Agile and Scrum, allowing ScrumMasters to form a richer understanding of their role and how to take their organization to the next level.

Learning objectives:
  • Lean, Agile and Scrum: History of Scrum and Agile, Expression of Values and Principles of the Agile Manifesto in Scrum, Other Lean / Agile Fundamentals, Empirical Process Control

  • Agile Facilitation: All this and similar thinking, frames of reference, decision making, listening techniques, when the ScrumMaster should be a facilitator and when not 

  • Agile coaching: coaching methods and techniques

  • Helping the Development Team: fostering self-organization, solving challenges, understanding team dynamics, team formation and development models, what makes an Agile team effective 

  • Helping the Product Owner: creating a solid Description of Completion and defining the Product Vision, understanding technical practices, moving from the Vision to the Worklist, coaching the Product Owner 

  • Support for the Organization: solving obstacles, fighting dependencies between teams, changing the scope (scale), when scale is needed and when not, implementation of organizational changes 

  • ScrumMastery: personal development based on Scrum values, understanding personal actions and reactions to conflict, ScrumMaster as servant leader

​Through the A-CSM, you’ll learn to

  • Facilitate better dialogue between the Product Owner, Scrum Team members, customers, stakeholders, and executives

  • Respond confidently when encountering resistance to change, lack of engagement, low motivation, and unavailability of key people

  • Increase engagement to encourage greater accountability, commitment, and buy-in

  • Scale Scrum and Agile beyond a single team

Requirements: 

In order to obtain the A-CSM certification, you will need to attend the 2-day A-CSM training, hold an active CSM certificate and demonstrate at least one-year work experience specific to the role of ScrumMaster (from within the past five years). 

A book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Agile Coaching (will be provided) is required reading for this course. 

This training fulfills all the learning objectives for an Advanced level CSM and is necessary in order to progress as a Scrum Alliance member, in addition to related work experience. 

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive the Scrum Alliance Advanced Certified ScrumMaster Certificate (A-CSM).
